Kathy's Farm
In Italy
Welcome
At 61, I retired from a 40-year career as a marriage, family, and child therapist, packed up the dog and cat and moved from Northern California to an olive farm in Italy. Living in Italy wasn't a dream; moving here was more of a fluke. (Story on the About page.) My sweet little farm has 10 fig trees, various fruit trees, and 40 olive trees from 30 to 150 years old. I sell my oil locally and some vegetables to local restaurants.
Living on land isn't new to me; I've lived on properties ranging from 10 to 1400 acres. And gardening has been a passion, possibly a compulsion, for forty-five years.
Now, I garden, explore, travel a little, and write. My photos are not polished but they are mine. The essays and posts are researched and written by me. And these days, instead of talking to clients I talk to the trees. The olive trees get a little jealous but the fruit trees couldn't care less. 😂
